An empire for the Poor and Struggling

For the poor and struggling everywhere, an example of how one woman with a will found a way to help others survive and grow An Empire For Poor Struggling Women.

Although these are hard & worrisome times for so many people in the US & around the world, it's important to remember that in times of need we also have an opportunity to find a wealth of support and friendship in each other. Your library has a world or resources and connections to offer to you and to our community, free of charge, so that we can all work together to sustain ourselves and rebuild our futures. In the memorable words of Ma Joad, the heroine of Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath , a gut wrenching novel about displaced Midwestern farmers migrating to pick fruit in California during the Great Depression, "We are the people, we go on." And so we will, together.
