Celebrate Banned Books Week 2010 @ your library. This year's theme is "Think for yourselves and let others do the same!" Stop by the library and visit our "book jail" (see photo). All of the inmates have been challenged with censorship at various times, including the dictionary which was accused of "containing inappropriate language". Post "bail" for your favorite book by checking it out!
Learn more about the freedom to read and its importance to a free and democratic society, and about the work your libraries do to ensure fair and equal access to information for all people. Visit the links below for additional information about censorship, book challenges and this week's celebration, and enjoy the "freadom to read".
