Fall Pre-K Storytime, Halloween Fun & Movie Nights

Fall Storytime for preschool children began at the library this week with "Appleicious!" tales. Storytimes will continue every Wednesday morning, beginning  at 10 AM, through December 17th. All parents and caregivers are invited to bring children for a story, interactive play and discovery time activites and take home crafts. Each week's storytime has a different theme and includes a special shelf of books and activity sheets related to the theme that can be taken home to enjoy. Upcoming themes include "Spider Mania", "Rubber Ducky Time" and "Monkey See, Monkey Do". This program is free of charge and is available for all children, families and caregivers. for more information, please contact children's librarian Gina Schmitz.

School's started and your library is ready to provide resources for homework and reading help for students of all ages. We're partnering with Boscobel Elementary School to this year to enhance our support of afterschool learning and classroom projects. We're also focussing on helping parents connect with the right books and other resources to assist their school age children with homework and learning skills. A special collection of grade-leveled Easy Reader books are now on display in our children's room, to make it easier for parents to help their beginning readers learn to enjoy a good book!.Also available for students, the library's two AWE Literacy and Learning computers make learning and skill building fun. These non-Internet touch screen computers provide grade-leveled educational games by subject for children from toddlers through 8th grade. Language skills, math, science, history, geography, the arts and more are available for kids to  explore and build skills while they're playing.

Movie Night, Thursday November 1st, 6:00 PM
Monthly movies nights at the library resume on Thursday, November 1st at 6:00 PM with Cocoon, a 1985 Ron Howard film. Cocoon stars Don Ameche, Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn and Wilford Brimley as a group of senior citizens given the opportunity to recapture their youth through a series of unusual events centered around their community swimming pool in Florida. Movie nights will continue thru April and feature family, documentary and popular movies. Join us each month for an enjoyable movie, snack and discussion at no charge as part of you library's ongoing "Your library. Your community. Friends for life" outreach programming

October 27th, Halloween Fun Day
