Fall into Your Library with Movies, Evening Storytime and WonderWorks!
It's hard to belief, but with the end of August drawing near, it's already time to begin planning for Fall programs at the Boscobel library. Beginning in October 21st, we'll be kicking off our regular pre-k Fall storytime series every Wed morning at 10 am. New this year in response to working parents' requests, we'll also be offering a Monday evening storytime, beginning at 6:30 PM. There is no cost to attend these program and all families are invited to attend.
In addition to October storytimes for preschooler, the library will also be offering "Wonderworks"program, a new 4 week series of play dates focused on giving children aged 3-4 the opportunity to play games and participate in fun activities that (without looking like homework) reinforce fundamental science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills in an entertaining and no pressure environment. Students in the US tend to score lower in STEM skills than students in other parts of the world. By starting early in a way that encourages exploration and curiosity about how things work, children begin to think for themselves, engaging learning as a joyful process that can be repeated over and over.
For adults, the coming of shorter days and colder weather mean its showtime at the Boscobel library! Our winter movie series will begin October 24th at 6:30 PM with Clint Eastwood's baseball movie, Trouble with the Curve.
