With Spring just around the corner your Boscobel Library is bursting with  programs for children and adults of all ages.  Current and upcoming events for your enjoyment include:

Spring Storytime
Happening now! Every Monday evening at 6:00 pm and again on Wednesday morning at 10:00 am join our children's librarian Gina Schmitz for a rollicking good read-a-loud story, activity, interactive playtime, craft and themed collection of books to take and read at home. This week's theme is Awesome Mail Carriers!

Speak the Word! at TLC
April is National Poetry Month and we're throwing a party for better or verse with our friends at Timber Lane Coffee. On April 9th from 6 -8:30 pm we'll be hosting Speak the Word!, an evening of open mic poetry and  creative reading out loud.  All readers, writers, poets, songwriters, lyric talkers and listeners welcome.  Bring your own work, a friend's work, a favorite poem or borrow one of ours to share. Poetry books available on site. Fun, drama & inspiration for all. Stage fright remover available. Catch yourself thinking- aloud!
During the day, before the event from 1-5 pm stop by the library to pick up a "Poem for Your Pocket" or create your very own masterpiece at our "Blackout Poem" station  ( Learn more athttp://www.makeblackoutpoetry.com). Bring either to read to the staff at Timber Lane and receive a free cup of coffee! Have questions? We have answers at 608-375-5723Tag us on social media before, during and after the event: #BoscoPoets

Antique Appraisals in May
Do you have antiques or collectibles? Unusual yardsale treasures? Questions about the value of family heirlooms? Mark your spring calendar: On Friday May 8th from 5-8 PM, your library will be hosting an Antiques Appraisal Fair featuring author and antiques expert Mark F. Moran of Iola, Wis. Formerly senior editor of Antiques and Collectibles Books for Krause Publications in Iola, Wis., he has also been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine. Mark is the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles, including three editions of the 800 page annual Warman's Antiques & Collectibles (available at the library). Moran bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years, specializing in vintage folk art, Americana, and fine art. He has been  active as an appraiser of antiques and fine art for more than 20 years and has been a guest on the Antiques Roadshow.

We are very excited to bring Mark  to our community this spring. Pre-registration for the event begins the first week of April at our library and is required if you wish to have an item appraised. Appraisal fee will be $15 per item, with a portion of the fee being donated toward our library building improvement project. Mark will also be available by appointment for private "house call" appraisals. House calls must be arranged in advance with Mark. Please email or call the library today for more information.
