Annual Public Open House, Friday, Dec 11th from 10 to 5 pm

Come one, come all to the Boscobel Public Library's Annual Public Open House, Friday, Dec 11th from 10 to 5 pm during regular library hours. Curious to see the work that's been done in our building? We'll be giving tours. Like to solve puzzles? Join in a scavenger hunt, find the hidden snowflake or solve our library Mystery masquerade.

Parents with children age one to pre-K can visit our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten display and try out an interactive early learning kit.  Also on display will be two 3-D printers. Watch us print a dinosaur with our Makerbot Mini! Both our 1KB4K program and  3D printers have been made available through a pair of  LSTA Grants from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services. Hear all about the other cool tech kits we'll be receiving in 2016 as part of our Makerspace grant, learn about what we've accomplished this year and what's planned for next, and enjoy holiday snacks and other refreshments.

We've once again set up our SAD Light Station to bring a bit of sunshine to folks who are missing the long sunny days of summer. SAD (seasonal affective disorder) lights are frequently used in cafe setting in far northern countries to help people cope with the winter blues and to feel more energized.

Holiday Hours: All city of Boscobel offices and the library will be closed Christmas Eve 12/24 and Christmas Day. From our library family to yours, we wish you and yours a joy-filled holiday season.
