Fall Events At Your Library

Fall is in the air and at the Boscobel Library we've been sprucing up for the busy winter indoor recreation and reading season! Here's some of what we've been up to:

Newer Faster Better, Wireless
Updates and improvements to our historic 1925 Claude and Starck building continue. We're pleased to announce that through the generosity of public donations over the last three years we've been able to replace our antiquated computer network hardware with new gigabit speed equipment and additional WIFI access points.
If you've stopped by in the past and found it challenging to connect your handheld device or laptop, you're in for a pleasant surprise. Just need an Internet-connected computer? Our nine public access desktop computer stations have also benefited from the new network. We're hoping to make things run even faster in 2017 with an additional bandwidth (Internet connection speed) improvements.

Coffee with the Candidates, November 1st, 6:30 PM
Join us at the library on November 1st for an evening of Town Hall style questions and answers with Wisconsin Assembly District 49 candidates, incumbent Rep.Travis Tranel (Republican) and his challenger, Jesse Bennett (Democrat). This event is free & open to the public and live questions will be taken during the event.

This is your opportunity to find out more about these candidates' positions on the issues that affect your quality of life in Southwest Wisconsin, and throughout the state. Share what's on your mind, bring your questions and concerns. All adults, families and children welcome to attend. Learn more before you vote!  Doors open 6:30 pm, program begins at 7, snacks and refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored and hosted by the Boscobel Public Library and the GFWC Boscobel Woman's Club. For more information call 608-375-5723.

The Wisconsin general election takes place on Tuesday, November 8th. Don't forget you'll need an ID to vote in this election. For more information about acceptable forms of ID, where and how to obtain an ID, register to vote, polling locations or candidate information, you can check online at http://www.bringitwisconsin.com/. Or go to the voter information tab on this website, or stop by the library's Voter Information Station located in the main room. Read all about the candidates, US election history, politics and more. We're happy to help you find voting information and to answer questions about the upcoming election.

Coming soon: Another major change for our library building is in the planning stages and will be announced this month. We're going to need input and help from our community, please follow us to learn more. We'll see you at the library!
