Boscobel Summer Library Reading Program begins Wednesday, June 7th, 10 am, all ages!
School's almost "zout"! and families are thinking about summer fun, programs, and activities to keep the kids busy and engaged. Your library is ready to help! We have an exciting lineup of fun, creative and educational programs beginning on June 7th, at 10 am as we kick off SLP 2017, "Build a Better World".
Some of this year's featured guests and programs include making Flower Bombs with master gardeners Peggy Therault and Kerry McCabe on June 14th, Let's Fly, all about airplanes and other flying things with Tom Pelz on June 21st, Pop Go The Catapults, using recycled materials to build amazing toys with Rich Bucholtz on July 12th and Let's Travel to India, food, customs and costumes with Robin Connelly on July 19th. Summer Library Program will take place from 10 to 11 am every Wednesday morning, from June 7th through July 19th.
Each week's planned program includes a variety of activities and challenges for children age pre-k through 6th grade, snacks, take home projects and books related to that week's theme. Infants and toddlers from birth to 35 months and their parents can join the self-guided "Rubber Ducky" read-aloud club, while older pre-teens and adults will find a wide variety of drop-in activities including reading and puzzle challenges, games of chance, walking tours, disc golf and other surprises designed to intrigue and entertain all summer long. If you haven't signed up yet, now's the time to stop by the library and learn all about the exciting and educational summer we have planned for you and your family. We'll see you soon, @ Your Library!
A friendly reminder: construction of our library's new elevator is underway and the back entrance is temporarily closed. When you visit the library building, please be sure to use the front entrance. If you have trouble getting up or down stairs, please call us before you arrive and our staff will be glad to assist you to return or select books or other items for checkout. We apologize for the inconvenience; soon our new elevator will allow everyone to move through the building with the greatest of ease and will allow the library to add additional public space for more events, special collections and relaxing with a good book. If you haven't already, please consider making a donation to the library's Elevator Fund, which helps us to meet the full cost of the important project. We are currently $8000. short of our goal of $30,000. and continue to need your help!
